Design
Marantz SR7015 has glossy black finishing. The front panel comes with very thin padding of silver lining which gives this receiver an extra futuristic, modern look. On the top right corner of the front panel, there is "Marantz" branding with a blue LED light that will turn on when the amp is powered on (And turns off after a few seconds).
The remote control for both receivers are similar in design and material, but Denon's remote control vibrates slightly better than Marantz's one.
On the bottom side of AVR-X4700H, you will find 4 switches (2 x HDMI out / 1x Zone 2 preamp output / Standby) which make it easy to change the amp status. On the bottom side of SR7015, you can find more switches on it (Auto power off / Standby). At the back of both receivers; there are USB ports that help to charge your gadgets while powered on standby mode.
AVR-X4700H has more weight than Marantz SR7015.
Display
Denon AVR-X4700H has a bright white LED display that gives bright, vibrant colors with good contrast levels for this type of panel size. There are 4 digit numbers on the display panel which is very easy to read even in a dark environment during late-night hours. On the top right corner of AVR-X4700H, there are two small LED indicators that indicate the power status.

Remote Control
Denon AVR-X4700H comes with well designed remote control compared to Marantz's one. It has a few unique features like Cinema EQ mode which makes it easier for users to adjust modes according to their personal preference. The scroll button on Denon AVR-X4700H's remote control doesn't stick unlike Marantz SR7015.
