The Denon AVR-X2700H is a mid-range 7.2 channel AV receiver that features Dolby Atmos and DTS:X decoders, as well as HDR compatibility. Design
Yamaha RX-V6A has a classic design with all the buttons placed right on the front panel which makes it nice to look at but also hard t use if you are planning to put it somewhere far from you. It supports 5.1 surround sound only by the way since there are no presets for additional speakers. The device looks very compact and fits into any room nicely regardless of its purpose or owner’s preferences. All three colors (black, silver, and white) fit pretty much any interior.
Denon AVR-X2700H takes the cake here due to its modernistic design which I personally like more than Yamaha’s. It has a lot of features that Yamaha doesn’t have, but also lacks a bit compared to it. First thing first, I loved the led lights on this device, they look pretty cool and won’t annoy you at all considering their brightness or color hue. The device itself is not as compact as Yamaha so keep that in mind if you are planning to put those side by side.

Features
Both Denon and Yamaha offer pretty much the same features. You got 4k HDR passthrough, app control, BlueTooth connectivity with both supporting AptX codecs, built-in wi-fi which is always nice to have for future-proofing, etc. But there are some differences as well. First of all, Denon has 7 channels supporting 120w each versus 6 channels that Yamaha has but they support 90 watts per channel (which is still more than enough mind you). Denon also offers 3D pass-through via HDMI while Yamaha doesn’t (but doesn’t really matter since not many people use it anyway). And lastly, Denon offers multi-room audio via HDMI out where Yamaha does not thus leave Yamaha behind in this department.

Sound Setup
Both devices support sound setups such as calibration and custom settings for your speakers (they can also automatically calibrate them by plugging them into the device). You can set up each one of the channels separately based on what you want to do with it. For example, you can use a different setting for movie night than for just listening music to.
The same goes for bass and treble levels and so on. The good thing about this is that if you ever change your speaker or install new ones, all of those settings will still be there since they are stored in the device itself rather than its remote which usually happens when using separate components such as amplifier + receiver + speakers.
